Author: Kelly Oram
An accident that should end in tragedy instead gives seventeen-year-old Jamie Baker a slew of uncontrollable superhuman abilities. To keep her secret safe Jamie socially exiles herself, earning the title of Rocklin High's resident ice queen. But during a supercharged encounter with star quarterback Ryan Miller she literally kisses anonymity goodbye. Now the annoyingly irresistible Ryan will stop at nothing to melt the heart of the ice queen and find out what makes her so special. Unfortunately, Ryan is not the only person on to her secret. Will Jamie learn to contain her unstable powers before being discovered by the media or turned into a government lab rat? More importantly, can she throw Ryan Miller off her trail before falling in love with him
Review:
I love Ryan. He is the best thing about this book.
He is a great character. I wasn't swooning over him but there is a definite spark. He makes me smile.
Jamie isn't bad either. I kind of understand why, she has to be icy and cold and why she hates her power. But, having super speed and Super hearing is kind of cool. She is just too whiny!
Though, Ryan makes it all okay. He's just so positive and amazing. Yes, he is a little full of himself but that just makes him realistic. But, he does pout a lot...I guess on him it works.
Jamie and Ryan are adorable together. I love their conversations. And, the twist in the end, well... that was surprising.
The book needs editing. Jamie took a lot of time to say yes to Ryan and the book got a little repetitive in the process. Also, the whole thing about how Jamie got her superpowers was kind of silly. The book doesn't have a great story but it is fun and entertaining.
