But the terrifying secret she uncovers will find her groping desperately through her nightmares for answers.Because what Alessa hasn't figured out yet is that she's not really a student, the object of her obsession is no ghost, and her sneaking suspicions that something sinister is lurking behind the walls of her university's idyllic campus are only just scratching the surface...The opening installment in a twist-laden trilogy, Stitch spans the genres of paranormal romance and dystopian sci-fi to explore the challenges of a society in transition, where morality, vision, and pragmatism collide leaving the average citizen to suffer the results.
I get so happy when a book manages to surprise me and forces me to keep reading it till the end. This is that kind of book that it will immerse you into its world and will have you turning pages quickly.
This is me while reading the book,
I was following Alyssa's journey to understand why she was the only one seeing a ghost in her room and suddenly BAM! There is a twist and the whole story suddenly changes and goes from paranormal to dystopian. I like when authors give me the unexpected. I know that I'm being vague but I don't want to spoil the book for you. Read it fast so we can discuss it. It will blow your mind, take my word.
Samantha is a great story-teller. She gives you what is required and keeps you guessing. This book is extremely entertaining. It has some sci-fi aspect to it too which I found really intriguing. I'm not much into it so that's saying a lot. The beginning is a little slow but after the revelation everything just becomes so clear. It's like a fog is lifted and I had this "Oh" moment where I understood certain things that didn't make sense to me before. I like how the author tied up all the loose ends.
I think the concept is really original and interesting. The romance is sweet but I would have liked more scenes of Alessa and Issac together. More conversations, perhaps. But the plot is the main hero of the book. I liked what I saw of Jo and Janie was just amazing. There were moments when I didn't understand Alessa's reaction to certain things but she has been through a lot so I'm trying not be too hard on her.
I'm excited about the next book. It will be hard task for the author to live up to this one and surprise me again. If you want to read something new and different. Give this book a try. :)
