Author: Cath Crowley
“Mum says when wanting collides with getting, that's the moment of truth. I want to collide".
“For a while, for as long as you're looking at it, that painting is the world and you get to be in it".
“I like that about art, that what you see is sometimes more about who you are than what’s on the wall."
“If you treat glass right, it doesn't crack. If you know the properties, you can make things; the color of dusk and night and love. But you can't control people like that and I really, really wish you could. I want the world to be glass.”
This is the best book that I read this year.
I loved it, every part, every page. It was intense to say the least.
I had this book for some time now and it was just sitting on my bookshelf but thank God I finally picked it up.
“but for my own part, if a book is well written, I always find it too short.”
― Jane Austen
This book is so awesome that I didn't want it to end. When I was on the last few pages I actually began to read slowly just so I could spend some more time with this book.
Yes, I liked it that much! :D
The writing is just amazing. Crowley is so talented. She made the characters come alive. When they were talking about art, it, at no point seemed pretentious or fake.
The graffiti were described so well that I could see them in front of me but I still wish there were pictures. It would have been so cool.
Art is so amazing. Everyone can connect with it. It has the ability to make you think. I love knowing the story behind a painting and what it signifies. The graffiti, the poems, Lucy's glass-work all of it showed that Crowley knows what she is talking about.
The characters are complex but I loved each and everyone of them especially Lucy, Ed and Leo.
I can't really describe the book or write a review that could do the book justice.
I say.....Just go ahead and read it, you won't regret it.
