Review:
The book is interesting and fast paced. The story starts really well.I just love the prologue, the beginning kept me hooked to the story even when it started getting a little repetitive.

Layla is 21 years old, she finds out that she is adopted through a letter written by her mother who died two months ago and so she goes to Oregon to search for her birth family where she meets Quin who tells her secrets that change her life.

The characters are pretty bland. They are black and white, good and bad. I prefer characters that are a little complex, especially in a paranormal novel, it adds to the mystery.

The cover is a little deceptive. It made me think that the novel would be dark and scary but it's really not. So, don't judge this book by its cover.

The book is mainly about love. So let's talk about the romance...

Layla/Quin
I liked Layla from the beginning. She is strong and independent. Quin is a great guy but I wasn't swooning over him.
I just didn't feel the spark between them. I really don't know what but something was missing.

Rhosewen and Aedan
Now, Layla's parents story I liked!
The story was so tragic and their love was so beautiful. I was fighting back tears reading their story. They would have been great parents. It's a shame they don't get an opportunity.

Though, I do feel that both these love stories were quite similar and IMO, her parents story should have been shorter.

Deja vu
The book has a lot of scenes that remind me of Harry Potter and Twilight.  Clearly, the author was influenced/inspired by those books.
So, If you are hoping for something different that you haven't read before you are in for a disappointment.

It's a page turner. Once I started reading, It was hard to put it down. I wanted to know what happened next and I still want to know more.So waiting for the next book, I have a feeling it would be better.
